From conception to consumption
My name is Jason Butler. I am 36 years old, married, and have 3 children. I have been president of the Columbus County Cattlemen’s Association for the past 4 years. I have worked on my family’s farm since 1994. We do not raise any row crops and are strictly devoted to livestock production on pasture.
In 2009, I noticed a market demand for grass fed beef in the metropolitan areas. From this realization I started building my own market for this region. I am a certified producer under the North Carolina Beef Quality Assurance Program. My Angus cattle are pasture raised and finished on grass. My Angus beef has never been given any animal byproducts, steroids, or growth hormones. All of my angus beef is gluten free, minimally processed and dry aged for 21 days for a flavorful and tender eating experience.
Butler Angus Ranch is a family owned and operated cow/calf operation located in Columbus County, NC since 2009. Our operation has multiple revenue streams that keep us busy year round. We sell breeding age bulls, bred heifers at live auctions and private treaty, grass fed Angus beef and Katahdin lamb at local farmers markets. I also sell hay and provide artificial insemination services to local farmers. I have been certified by Clemson University since 2003 in Artificial Insemination by the National Association of Animal Breeders. I often provide my service to local farmers who would like to increase their cattle operations by improving their cattle genetics.
