At The Butter Bean Village Market, we are local and we sell local food and products. Our mission is to support local folks and promote healthy food. Come in and visit our little eclectic market. Our History After purchasing the property from the estate of a Mr. Pigg in the 1990s, our current owner, Mrs. Joni Wellman, and her husband decided that the location would be a great place to start an “Old Time General Store” and thus The Butter Bean Village Market was born. The building itself has quite a colorful history. Originally built by Mr. Pigg as a gas station in the 1950s that closed in 1972 after an unsuccessful robbery attempt, it has since been leased to several entrepreneurs.
