Our Products:
We are NC Certified Hay Sprigger with 6 different varities of Hybird Burmudagrasses. GOODWELL - is a lower growing forage grass that has larger stems and wider leaves, which produces a more dense sod compared with hay type varieties, it produces vigorous underground rhizomes, and crown buds. OZARK - is a propagation from a very cold tolerant bermudagrass from Yugoslavia and 'Coastal'. Based on its cold tolerance and stand persistence, it is thought to be best adapted to the Northern half of the bermudagrass belt. It is propagated by convention sprigging and produces vigorous underground rhizomes and crown buds. MIDLAND 99- is a bermudagrass released jointly by the Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Missouri Agricultural Experiment Stations, the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation and the USDA-ARS in April of 1999. It comes from crosses that span from Afghanistan, Ghana and Oklahoma. I has tall, upright growth, tolerates low ph soils, Its leaves are 2-4 cm and produces seedheads later than other forage varieties. Tifton 85 - is a new hybrid Bermuda grass released by the Georgis Coastal Plain Experiment Station in 1992. It averaged 26% more dry matter and was 11% more digestible than Coastal in small plot tests. It has outperformed Coastal and Tifton 78 in replicated grazing trails. To date it has not been extensively tested in NC Winter hardiness is undetermined but appears t be no greater that Tifton 78. TIFTON 44 - is a hybrid Bermuda grass released by the Georgis Coastal Plains Experiment Station, Tifton, Georgia, in cooperation with the ARS and USDA in 1978. A fine stemmed F1 hybrid must be propagated vegetatively. Compared with Coastal Bermuda, Tifton 44 is a darker green, has finer stems that cure faster when cut for hay, has more rhizomes, is a litter shorter, makes a dense sod and is more winter hardy than other Bermudas tested, It starts growth earlier in the spring than most Bermuda grasses tested at Tifton. Tifton 44 is more resistant to foliar disease than many varieties. COASTAL - is a highly productive hybrid between Tif Bermuda and a tall strain of South African Bermuda developed at the Georgia Coastal Plain Experiment Station, Tifton, Georgia. This vegetatively propagated pasture grass is adapted to well-drained soils of the Piedmont and Coastal Plains. Coastal is tall growing and produces a few seed heads that rarely contain viable seed. It shows resistance to leaf spot and good resistance to root-knot nematodes.
