James Duke, PhD, herbal authority and best-selling author, kicks off the Piedmont Herb Festival June 4 & 5, 2010 ␣March/April␣2010␣␣ E-mail newsletter Inside this issue: Registration Vendor Sponsorship The PHF website: www.piedmontherbfestival.com The NC Herb Association has partnered with the Union County Master Gardeners and the NC Natural Products Association to produce the Piedmont Herb Festival. (PHF). The PHF will be held at the Union County Agricultural Services Center, 3230 Presson Road, Monroe, NC on June 4 & 5, 2010.

About US
The PHF grew from the strong regional response to a series of classes held in Monroe in early 2009. The response was so strong, in fact, that one class had to be repeated to meet the demand! In deciding where to go from there, NCHA Board members Camille Edwards and Jeff Rieves developed the idea for the PHF. “Through our combined efforts, we are proud to offer the Piedmont region the first annual Piedmont Herb Festival!” said Camille Edwards, NCHA President. “I am thrilled that I can be a part of this undertaking for the very first time. This region is primed for growth in the natural products industry...Dr. Duke realizes this potential in the Piedmont region and was very excited to be a part of this first endeavor through the PHF.”

Camille is, of course, referring to James A. Duke, PhD, world renowned herbalist and best selling author, who will be the featured speaker at the Piedmont Herb Festival. Dr. Duke is an authoritative speaker on plants, including herbs, in the United States, Europe and Central and South America. His latest book is titled The Green Pharmacy Guide to Healing Foods: Proven Natural Remedies to Treat and Prevent More Than 80 Common Health Concerns and will be available for sale at the Festival.
