Apple Hill Farm sits on top of Valle Mountain on the site of a 45-year-old
apple orchard. The remaining apple trees serve as the focal point for the
farm, which is now home to a menagerie of animals. Magnificent mountain
views, wooded footpaths, and landscaped gardens are the visual backdrop for
the barns and animals.
The mission of Apple Hill Farm is to educate people about animals and
farming. A 1 1/2 hour guided walking tour starts at the Horse barn, winding
around the farm to visit alpacas, donkeys, llamas, goats, chickens, vegetable
garden, and horses. Tour guides give information about the animals, their
stories and their purpose to the farm. The terrain is hilly. Wear comfortable
walking shoes and don't forget to bring a camera.
The Apple Hill Farm Store (upstairs in the barn) features clothing made from
alpaca fiber, arts and crafts from local artisans and a unique selection of gift
items. We also have eggs, garden produce in season and honey.
