A native of central North Carolina, Culinary Adventurist Wendy Perry's professional journey has taken her along many fun and interesting pathways in the culinary world. A Marketing Home Economist, she is a food stylist and the Recipe Developer for Our State Magazine. At every turn in the road, she has found herself dabbling in some sort of food adventure, each one fun and unique... and inspiring! From event planning to training folks to be personal chefs, she has played with food in all sorts of ways, including recipe development.
Yet as the granddaughter of farming families and farmland owner, she has always held a special place in her heart for the farmers and their families who till the soil and tend their herd, yet are SO under-appreciated! She is now sowing seed in another direction and offering the skills she has cultivated for over three decades to those growing our dee-lish foods! From marketing plan assistance to web pages and social media, Wendy is your gal! She can also represent your product at expos and coordinate special events.
Additionally, Wendy is stirring up a cookbook that will feature recipes using goodies being made from our North Carolina beaches to our mountains and everywhere in-between. She needs to hear from if you have a product or commodity you would like included in her book and also asks that you help spread the word! She is available to create and test recipes, compile and/or edit cookbooks, conduct cooking/grilling demos and pen culinary columns for food and beverage newsletters and blogs. Wendy has been a judge over the years for NCDA State Fair cooking contests as well as for the NC Specialty Foods Expo and can help coordinate as well as judge contests for your products too.
