"Creating the Fawns of Royalty"

My husband and I became interested in alpacas after we
spent one summer in Vermont. I took up spinning and felt how
absolutely soft and luxurious the alpaca roving (processed fleece) is! I had wanted sheep at one time, but alpaca fleece is by far superior. It is hypoalergenic, non greasy,
and much more softer than sheep wool. It doesn't itch and products made from it are ever so soft next to your skin.
It is also a natural flame retardant! So, we bought two fiber boys (pet quality) alpacas and now are in the business!
Kaarlo says he's a "born again farmer", since he grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York. He has been in sales most of his life.
Valerie is the "stay at home farmer" who takes
care of the alpacas, with Kaarlo's help, spins, makes lip balm and other botanicals and does eco-visits. She has a master's degree in sciences and has been a science and horticulture teacher, a state naturalists, and a camp counselor.
We are currently offering summer day visits for those who want to learn more about the alpaca industry. We also encourage farm visits and have a farm store where you can see spinning demonstrations. Valerie also offers spinning lessons and hand felting workshops .
