Irena Farm

Harmony through sustainable farming

About Us
Irena Farm is located about 40 minutes north of Durham, near Roxboro, NC. We are developing a system to produce high quality lamb grown entirely on native grasses. We are adapting the UK "three-tier" system using maternal breeds which thrive in southeastern heat and dry summer spells.

We offer very mild lamb that finishes at a light weight suitable for barbeques and roasts for the family. We frequently also offer older animals - our breeds provide some of the best mutton on the planet! Very mild and tender with almost gamey taste.

We presently only offer whole animals, although we have no problem with splitting orders for customers who order together. We deliver to the processor of your choice, or we can have the processing done and we'll deliver to a mutually convenient location. A 65 pound lamb yields about 35 pounds of meat, which usually fits in a medium sized cooler. We would love to talk to you about buying lamb straight from the farm!
