Captain John S.Pope's farm has been continuously owned since 1852 by the descendants of John S. and Mary Jane Pope. The farm is currently owned and operated by the fourth, fifth, and sixth generations.
The farm currently raises Dorper and Dorper X breed sheep, which are free-range and grass fed, with no added antibiotics or hormones. Due to their non-seasonal breeding habits, the result is a lean low-fat product of mild flavored, tender and tasty meat available throughout the year.
Visitors are always welcome to visit our sustainable farming operation by appointment. You'll see over 150 sheep and lambs and have an opportunity to feed our llamas, too.
Grass fed, free range lamb with no added hormones or antibiotics.
