SHELL EGGS:  Daily California Eggs                                              
                                                                                

Prices are steady. Trade sentiment is firm. Offerings are light for Jumbo       
and Extra Large and moderate for Large and Medium. Retail demand ranges         
moderate to fairly good. Supplies are mixed, although most warehouse            
distributors report comfortable floor stocks. Market activity is slow to        
mostly moderate. Monday's shell egg inventories declined 9.9% in the            
Southwest and increased 10.2% in the Northwest.                                 
                                                                                

Shell egg marketer's benchmark price for negotiated egg sales of                
USDA Grade AA and Grade AA in cartons, cents per dozen.  This                   
price does not reflect discounts or other contract terms.
