Small Ruminant Shelter
Is the first line of defense in a disaster and is the essence of the "farmers helping farmers" principle.
The listing just gives your address and contact information.
The owner of the animals will contact you. You decide what you will supply (feed, pasture, shelter) and at what price. You also determine what health requirements that you would have. It is recommended that you keep any sheltered animals separate and be able to disinfect and maintain good bio-security. You wouldn't want a good deed to create problems The principle of specifying small ruminants is to help you and the owners know what to expect. The department (NCDA&CS) is not involved at all except to provide the contact listing in the Goat and Sheep Directory.
