Export Readiness Questionnaire
North Carolina companies exported approximately $1.6 billion worth of agricultural products in 2005. The reasons companies export vary greatly, but may include a desire to increase profits, diversify markets in order to reduce risk, extend the lifecycle of an existing product, and many more.
This questionnaire is designed to help in-experienced exporters gauge whether their company is ready to export their product(s) overseas. The questions highlight certain characteristics that are often found in companies that successfully export. While these questions are designed to reflect characteristics of successful exporters, they are not hard and fast rules. Each company is unique in their product, target market and goals and must keep these factors in mind when developing an export marketing plan.
At the end of the questionnaire, you will receive a score which will help you to assess your export readiness, as well as highlight areas in which your company may need to strengthen its export activities.
