Open Meat Goat Show results announced

FLETCHER – Champions from three different classes were named today at the Open Meat Goat Show at the N.C. Mountain State Fair. Todd McLeod of Randolph County was the Grand Champion of the Percentage Boer Doe class. Thomas Cannon of Cherokee County was the Grand Champion of the Full Blood Boer Doe class. Roger McSwain of Lincoln County was the Grand Champion of the Full Blool Boer Buck class.
Reserve Grand Champions from each class were Todd McLeod, David Gilliam of Blount County, TN, and Jimmy Dowell of Breckinridge County, KN respectively.
Champions from each class were as follows:
- Percentage Boer Does (50-87% Boer): Junior Champion – Todd McLeod, Randolph County; Junior Reserve Champion – Morgan Honeycutt, Johnston County; Yearling Champion – Todd McLeod, Randolph County; Yearling Reserve Champion – Todd McLeod, Randolph County; Senior Champion – Todd McLeod, Randolph County; Senior Reserve Champion – Todd McLeod, Randolph County
- Full Blood Boer Does: Yearling Champion – Brad Mackey, Lenoir County; Senior Champion – Brad Mackey, Lenoir County; Senior Reserve Champion – Adam King, Burke County
- Full Blood Boer Bucks: Junior Champion – Roger McSwain, Lincoln County; Junior Reserve Champion – Roger McSwain, Lincoln County; Yearling Champion – Brad Mackey, Lenoir County; Yearling Reserve Champion – Brad Mackey, Lenoir County; Senior Champion – Roger McSwain, Lincoln County; Senior Reserve Champion – Jimmy Dowell, Breckinridge County, KY
The show was open to all exhibitors and the number of entries was unlimited. All goats must have met the eligibility requirements of the American Boer Goat Association.
