Sisters win titles at Open Feeder Calf Show

FLETCHER – Jessica Freeman of Buncombe County was the Grand Champion at Wednesday’s Open Feeder Calf Show at the NC Mountain State Fair. Jessica placed just ahead of her sister, Shianne, who was the show’s Reserve Grand Champion. Each girl showed pens of three calves. Jessica showed steers and Shianne heifers.

The show was open to the world. All animals must have been less than one year old at show’s date and have weighed between 300 and 800 pounds. Classes were split between steers and heifers.
