Open Llama Show announces winners at Mountain State Fair

FLETCHER – Carolyn Springer of Greene County won Best of Show at the N.C. Mountain State Fair’s Open Llama Show. Springer competed against nine other Grand Champion winners from various classes to take the title. Champions from the Open Llama Show at the N.C. Mountain State Fair are as follows according to class:
- Suri Males: Grand Champion – Craig Swindler, Union County; Reserve Champion – Michael West, Yadkin County
- Suri Females: Grand Champion – Carolyn Springer, Greene County; Reserve Champion – Mary Louise Meadows, Columbia County, GA
- Light Wool Males: Grand Champion – Mary Louise Meadows, Columbia County, GA
- Light Wool Females: Grand Champion – Susan Gawarecki, Anderson County, TN; Reserve Champion – Mary Lou Hassell, Washington County
- Medium Wool Males: Grand Champion – Jana Fox, Madison County; Reserve Champion – Jerry Ayers, Greene County
- Medium Wool Females: Grand Champion – Deborah Perry, Franklin County; Reserve Champion – Guerrant Treadway, Rockingham County
- Heavy Wool Males: Grand Champion – Jerry Ayers, Greene County; Reserve Champion – Laurie Mollin, Franklin County
- Heavy Wool Females: Grand Champion – Carolyn Springer, Greene County; Reserve Champion – Luann Williams, Polk County
- Mini Males: Grand Champion – Darlene Awarski, Montgomery County; Reserve Champion – Darlene Awarski, Montgomery County
- Mini Females: Grand Champion – Peter Barber, Rutherford County; Reserve Champion – Laura Harrawood, Franklin County
- Non-Breeders: Grand Champion – Elke Amenda-Spirakis; Reserve Champion – Vicki Sundberg, Brunswick County
