Buncombe County resident wins Grand Champion in Open All Breed Heifer Show

FLETCHER – Chris Mackey of Buncombe County was named Grand Champion at Monday’s Open All Breed Heifer Show at the N.C. Mountain State Fair. Champions from three different classes competed for the show title on Monday. Mackey’s heifer was the Champion in the Junior class.
Reserve Grand Champion for the show went to Madison Malson of Catawba County. Malson and her animals won Champion in the Calf and Senior classes.

Reserve Champion in the Calf class went to Anna Munday of Caldwell County; Clark Worley of Buncombe County won Reserve Champion in the Junior class, and Ty Worley, also of Buncombe County, won Reserve Champion in the Senior class.

The show was open to any exhibitor in the world. Exhibitors were limited to two entries per class.
