Senior doe winners named at Open Dairy Goat Show

FLETCHER – Exhibitors from across North Carolina and bordering states competed in eight divisions at this past weekend’s Open Dairy Goat Show for the title of Grand Champion in the Open Senior Doe competition. Competition was open to the world for animals registered in the American Dairy Goat Association, American Goat Society, or the Canadian Goat Society. The Grand and Reserve Grand Champions from each division are:
- Nubian: Grand Champion – Jean Lucas, Pearisburg, VA; Reserve Grand Champion – Cam Faircloth, Monroe, GA
- Oberhasli: Grand Champion – Douglas Harris, Washington County; Reserve Grand Champion – Cheryl Harris, Chatham County
- Recorded Grades: Grand Champion – Miranda Weerheim, Buncombe County; Reserve Grand Champion – Erin Evans, Anderson County (SC)
- Saanens: Grand Champion – Paula Reisdorff, Guilford County; Reserve Grand Champion – Paula Reisdorff, Guilford County
- Toggenburgs: Grand Champion – Robert Smith, Union County; Reserve Grand Champion – Casey Younger, Nash County
- Alpines: Grand Champion – Stacey Atkinson, Lamar, SC; Reserve Grand Champion – Morgan Owen, Madison, NC
- LaManchas: Grand Champion – Anne Hutchens, Pearisburg, VA; Reserve Grand Champion – Brianna Mickey, Madison County
- Nigerian Dwarf: Grand Champion – Marie Harrell, Lenoir County; Reserve Grand Champion – Karen Stanger, Hoke County
