Junior doe winners named at Youth Dairy Goat Show

FLETCHER – Youths from across North Carolina competed in eight divisions at Saturday’s Youth Dairy Goat Show for the title of Grand Champion in the Junior Doe competition. Competition was open to exhibitors under 21 years of age and residents of North Carolina. Animals must have been registered in the American Dairy Goat Association, American Goat Society, or the Canadian Goat Society. The Grand and Reserve Grand Champions from each division are:
- Nubian: Grand Champion – Brianna Mickey, Madison County; Reserve Grand Champion – Ashley Bottoms, Surry County
- Oberhasli: Grand Champion – William Blackman, Johnston County*
- Recorded Grades: Grand Champion – Lewis Smith, Surry County; Reserve Grand Champion – Lewis Smith, Surry County
- Toggenburgs: Grand Champion – Casey Younger, Nash County; Reserve Grand Champion – Lewis Smith, Surry County
- Alpines: Grand Champion – Sylas Owen, Madison County; Reserve Grand Champion – Brian Owen, Chatham County
- LaManchas: Grand Champion – Myra Grace Brown, Craven County; Reserve Grand Champion – Brianna Mickey, Madison County
- Nigerian Dwarf: Grand Champion – Jason Harrell, Lenoir County; Reserve Grand Champion – Alyassa Peckman, Orange County
- Saanens: Grand Champion – Sylas Owen, Madison County; Reserve Grand Champion – Sylas Owen, Madison County
