N.C. youths named champions in Junior Meat Breed Ewe show

FLETCHER –Grand Champions were named in five different divisions, separated by breed, Sunday at the N.C. Mountain State Fair for the Junior Meat Breed Ewe show. Exhibitors were all under the age of 19, residents of North Carolina, and were the primary caretaker of their animal for at least 30 days prior to the show. The Grand and Reserve Grand Champions from each breed are:
- Dorset: Grand Champion – Melinda Staebner, Jonesville, NC; Reserve Grand Champion – Melinda Staebner, Jonesville, NC
- Hampshire: Grand Champion – Melinda Staebner, Jonesville; Reserve Grand Champion – Bethany Phillips, Newton, NC
- Suffolk: Grand Champion – Bubba McLaughlin, Mooresville, NC; Reserve Grand Champion – Jesse Butler, Bakersville, NC
- Southdown: Grand Champion – Hannah Rodatz, Hickory, NC; Reserve Grand Champion – Hannah Rodatz, Hickory, NC
- Commercial: Grand Champion – Bubba McLaughlin, Mooresville; Reserve Grand Champion – Ashley Pittman, Kenly, N
