Buncombe County resident wins Grand Champion at Open Junior Feeder Calf Show

FLETCHER – Kelsi Cartwright of Buncombe County won Grand Champion at Sunday’s Open Junior Feeder Calf show at the N.C. Mountain State Fair. Jessica Freeman, also of Buncombe County, was awarded the Reserve Grand Champion title. Each winner was awarded a ribbon, trophy, and a cash prize for her efforts.

Open shows are open to any exhibitor in the world. Exhibitors must have been under the age of 19 as of the show date. All animals must have weighed between 350 and 750 pounds.
