FLETCHER—When John Misita’s K-9s in Flight take the stage at the 2009 NC Mountain State Fair, the fur will be flying. The 25-minute show will include dock diving, high jump and Frisbee stunts, all in a fun, high-energy atmosphere. The fair runs Sept. 11-20 at the WNC Ag Center in Fletcher.
Shows will be held at 4, 6 and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This show will be held near entrance A of the fairgrounds, just below the lower chairlift pad. Shows are sponsored by the N.C. Mountain State Fair and are free to fairgoers. The site is identified as location 12 on the Mountain State Fair maps.
“We strive to educate on the importance of pet adoption, exercise, nutrition and the special bond between humans and dogs,” says Misita. “All the dogs in our show have been rescued or adopted from shelters all over the country.”
Crowds attending the shows are invited to be part of the show, and will have the chance to meet the stars of the show after each performance. Misita will also share some of the training techniques used in teaching the tricks.
