APRIL

ANTIQUE TRACTOR SHOW - SATURDAY, APRIL 17 -

8:00 AM UNTIL 3:00 PM

It's time for our annual antique tractor show!!! Join us as The Stumptown Antique Tractor Club once again have their beautiful tractors on display. This is a fun event for all members of the family. Be sure to make this event a part of your day!!!

MAY

STRAWBERRY DAY - FRIDAY, MAY 7 -

11:00 AM UNTIL 1:00 PM

Local strawberries are arriving at the farmers market! And you can bet that they are sweet and delicious!! Strawberry Day is always a big hit. During this time you can sample strawberries and representatives will be on hand handing our information on how to pick, handle, and store these delicious berries. Also free copies of the "Strawberry Farm Directory" which includes listings of strawberry farms across North Carolina will be available. Many of these farms offer you, the consumer, the opportunity to come and pick your own strawberries.

JUNE

AARP/WALGREENS WELLNESS TOUR - SATURDAY, JUNE 12 -

7:00 AM UNTIL 1:00 PM

The AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour is delivering free health screenings and health education to communities across the country with a special emphasis on diverse and underserved areas.

Available screenings are worth over $140 per person, and no appointment is necessary. Screenings include:

• Total Cholesterol Levels
• Blood Pressure
• Bone Density
• Glucose Levels
• Waist Circumference
• Body Mass Index

Beautifully restored lawn tractors and the gentlemen who restored them will be at the farmers market to display their pride and joy! Come out and enjoy looking at these masterpieces and talk to the gentlemen who own them. This is a fun event for the entire family.

JULY

WATERMELON DAY - FRIDAY, JULY 9 -

11:00 AM UNTIL 1:00 PM

What is good on a hot and steamy summer day? Of course, sweet and juicy watermelon! Join us on this special day as we pay homage to the watermelon. The N.C. Watermelon Queen will be at the farmers market to greet visitors. Also, free samples of watermelon and lots of literature on watermelons will be available.

SEPTEMBER

MECKLENBURG COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS FALL PLANT SALE

Join The Mecklenburg County Master Gardeners as they hold their annual fall plant sale. For sale will be a wide selection of annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees. The popular plant sale offers a wide and unusual plant selection of healthy, home grown plants ready for fall planting. Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer advice and answer garden questions.
