Derek Allred is the Department’s Chief Audit Officer. He works with senior management to ensure the Division is meeting the Department’s needs. Derek develops the annual audit plan and oversees the Division’s operations.

Derek holds professional certifications for internal auditing (CIA), information technology auditing (CISA), fraud examination (CFE), government auditing (CGAP) and risk management assurance (CRMA). He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Information Systems and Control Association and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Derek earned his B.S. in Justice Studies from Georgia Southern University and his Master of Public Administration from N.C. State University.
