At these early stages, collect the
entire above-ground plant (about
1/2 inch above soil line). Two
handfuls of leaves collected from
several locations in the field make
a representative sample.

Use the following codes on the
sample information form:

Growth Stage:          E (early)
Plant Part:             W (whole)
Plant Position:       U (upper)
