STEPS TO OBTAINING A
NORTH CAROLINA
STRUCTURAL PEST CONTROL LICENSE
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT PASSED ANY EXAMS
(OR DID NOT RENEW LICENSE or CERTIFICATION ANNUALLY)
(1) Attend one day registered technician training school ($25.00).
(2) Submit preregistration form 10 days prior to taking the certification exam(s)
($25.00 per phase; core no charge; payable at the exam site).
(3) Upon passing certification exam(s), complete and submit 9 page "Application For License Examination" requesting approval to sit for the NC licensing exam(s). An FBI Background check is required. Approval time is approximately 8 weeks.
(4) Upon receipt of an approval letter from the Division Director indicating your approval to take the licensing exam(s), submit preregistration form 10 days prior to taking the licensing exam(s) ($50.00 per phase; payable at the exam site).
(5) Upon passing licensing exam(s), submit "Application For Structural Pest Control License" form along with fee and proof of liability insurance
(One phase=$200; two phases=$275; three phases=$350; and
add a phase=$75 for each phase).
(6) Application will be processed and license mailed within 6 weeks.
(7) Structural pest control licenses are not prorated; all licenses expire June 30th of each year and must be renewed prior to that date if the applicator is to continue working without interruption.
IF YOU HAVE PASSED THE NC CERTIFICATION EXAM
WITHIN THE PAST 12 MONTHS or CURRENTLY CERTIFIED IN NC
(1) Complete and submit 9 page "Application For License Examination" form requesting approval to sit for the NC licensing exam(s). An FBI Background Check is required. Approval time is approximately 8 weeks.
