Farm Pond Management

There are hundreds of farm ponds in North Carolina.  Many times people ask, "What should be stocked in my pond, and when should I stock it?"

This all depends on the primary purpose of your pond.  Many folks in North Carolina choose to stock their ponds with Largemouth Bass, Bluegill Sunfish, and Channel Catfish.

There are several different stocking options depending on the purpose of your pond.  Please see the NC Cooperative Extension Farm Pond Management web site for more details.
